Coverage boundary
What this site does not see. Every row below is generated from what the site is actually configured to watch, rather than from a list anyone maintains by hand — so a gap that opens up appears here whether or not somebody remembered to write it down. A hand-maintained list of blind spots is a list of the blind spots somebody remembered.
The other half of this is on every dataset: each download carries an integrity report saying when its producer was not looking. This page is the prior question — what has no producer at all.
Detectors
This site watches for 10 kinds of event. 5 of them have never produced one, and they do not all mean the same thing: 1 “we are not watching this”; 1 “it is switched on and there is nothing for it to watch”; 1 “we are watching, and the bar may be untestable”; 2 “we are watching and nothing has happened”. The record they are measured against runs from 2026-08-11 to 2026-10-07 — 58 days.
Switched off
“we are not watching this”
- Large Ethereum transfers
- Not currently watched. The capability exists and is switched off, so nothing on this site reports large Ethereum transfers.
Switched on, with nothing to watch
“it is switched on and there is nothing for it to watch”
- Token unlocks as they happen
- Switched on, and there is nothing for it to watch: what it works from is a list this site has not filled, so it will not report anything whatever happens on chain. That is a different statement from 'nothing has happened', and this page will not round the two together.
Watching, with a bar nothing has come near
“we are watching, and the bar may be untestable”
- Extreme funding rates
- Watching, but the level we watch for is set nearly five times higher than anything we have ever recorded, so it has never reported anything and we cannot yet say whether it is set sensibly.
Watching, and nothing has happened
“we are watching and nothing has happened”
- Chain slowdowns
- Watching, and it has not happened. We keep no separate record of the underlying readings here, so we cannot tell you whether the level we watch for is one anything ever reaches — only that nothing has reached it.
- Chain recoveries
- Watching, and it has not happened. We keep no separate record of the underlying readings here, so we cannot tell you whether the level we watch for is one anything ever reaches — only that nothing has reached it.
Watching, and it has fired
“watching, and it has fired”
- Large Bitcoin transfers
- 93,865 reported across 58 days of record.
- Liquidation cascades
- 2,331 reported across 58 days of record.
- Stablecoin redemption
- 1,528 reported across 58 days of record.
- Stablecoin issuance
- 1,401 reported across 58 days of record.
- Large token transfers
- 3,591 reported across 58 days of record.
Holes in the record in the last 24 hours
- 105 min in 7 window(s)a source gave us a price too old to use, so we recorded none
- 48 min in 12 window(s)a source we read stopped answering
Chains with no watcher
- unwatched · not currently watched — we read nothing from this chain, so a halt on it would not be detected here
The liveness board draws these as unwatched rather than green, which is the rule this whole page extends: a green dot for a chain nobody is watching is the one lie this site cannot tell.
Exchanges we watch for and cannot read
- Bybit publishes no status page we can read. The one at bybit.statuspage.io belongs to somebody else — it is headed "Login" and lists another company's systems — so we refuse it rather than report it as theirs. Their own announcements feed mixes marketing with outage notices and never states whether the exchange is up, so a dot drawn from it would be our guess rather than their statement.
- KuCoin's status address does not exist. Their announcements feed does, and it never says whether the exchange is up right now.
- Bitget's status page is private and will not open for us.
- Gate's status address does not exist, and their announcements feed will not answer anyone without an account.
- HTX's status address does not exist, and we could find no other source that states whether the exchange is up without an account.
- Upbit's status address does not exist. Their announcements feed does, and it never says whether the exchange is up right now.
- Deribit's status page is private and will not open for us.
Prices we quote and do not fully cover
- no page of its own · every member's price is logged on the same tape, guarded at the tail's own bar, ranked on the movers tables and in the downloads; none has a page, a band row or a wire sentence, and none gets one by existing — the rules and the full list are at /byte-500/
- no page of its own · we log a price for each of these every tick and the series is real, but coverage in the data is not a page per asset — a page is minted when an asset actually produces a story
- no seat on the price-claim tape · the tape a story's figures are checked against is the short list in config and stays short on purpose: widening it changes which stories get checked
- no funding and open interest · nothing in the commodity class has a perpetual funding rate to read
- no funding and open interest · nothing in the equity class has a perpetual funding rate to read
- no funding and open interest · nothing in the fx class has a perpetual funding rate to read
- no funding and open interest · nothing in the index class has a perpetual funding rate to read
- no funding and open interest · nothing in the rate class has a perpetual funding rate to read
Recorded, and never written up as a story
Things this wire writes down and will not turn into a story: Large token transfers, Token unlocks as they happen. Things it records as a running series and never reports as an event at all: Open interest. Both are deliberate, and both are in the download.
