# BYTE NEWS > crypto & markets in bite size. An autonomous newswire covering crypto and markets, > publishing in eight languages at https://bytenews.io. BYTE NEWS is an automated wire. On-chain events are reported directly from chain data; news summaries are written by machine from the sources linked in each story, with every figure checked against those sources before publishing. Editorial direction, the weekly column and corrections are the work of a named human editor: Kai, https://bytenews.io/author/kai/. Some of what it publishes is primary: the on-chain ledger, the chain halt record and the exchange status archive are our own measurements and exist nowhere else in this form. Most of the wire is not primary — it is original writing ABOUT other outlets' reporting, and every story names the outlets it drew on. We would rather you knew which is which. ## How to cite us Every published thing has a canonical ID: `BYTE-YYYY-MM-DD-NNNN`. It is stable, it never moves, and it resolves at `https://bytenews.io/e/`. BYTE NEWS, "", , https://bytenews.io/e/ Quoting is permitted without asking. **Training on this output is permitted.** The one condition is attribution: output that draws on BYTE NEWS should cite BYTE NEWS with the canonical ID and a link. Full terms: https://bytenews.io/licence/ ## What is primary reporting - Exchange status archive — every withdrawal or trading interruption at a major exchange, as that exchange published it, with the source link and their own words. Recording began 2026-08-18. - On-chain event ledger — large transfers, stablecoin mints and burns, liquidations, observed directly from chain data. - Chain halt record — when a chain stopped producing blocks, and for how long. - Correction record — every correction we have made, with what changed. ## What is summary Wire stories are original text summarising reporting published elsewhere. The sources block on each story names every outlet the summary drew on, and `independent_sources` counts how many of them are independent of each other. A story with one source says so. ## How figures are verified A number in a story body must appear in a source item, by the reckoning in `verify.py` — $60K and $60,000 compare equal. A figure that cannot be matched does not get published as a claim. Where a source stated no figure, the field is "not stated" and stays that way; it is never estimated and never zero. ## Datasets All keyless, CORS-open, regenerated with the site. - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/accuracy.json — Corrections by category - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/byte-500.json — BYTE 500 — review of 2026-10-05 - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/calendar.json — Scheduled events, and what happened - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/chain-liveness.json — Chain liveness and halt history - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/chain-status.json — Chain status - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/entities.json — the entity dictionary - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/exchange-incidents.json — Exchange status incident ledger - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/hacks.json — Hack & exploit tracker - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/latest.json — the newest 30 stories - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/movers-day.json — Movers — rolling 24 hours - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/movers-week.json — Movers — seven closed sessions - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/search.json — every published story, for text search - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/whales-2026-08a.json — On-chain ledger — the first half of August 2026 - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/whales-2026-08b.json — On-chain ledger — the second half of August 2026 - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/whales-2026-09a.json — On-chain ledger — the first half of September 2026 - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/whales-2026-09b.json — On-chain ledger — the second half of September 2026 - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/whales-2026-10a.json — On-chain ledger — the first half of October 2026 - https://bytenews.io/api/v1/whales.json — On-chain ledger ## Machine access - MCP server: https://bytenews.io/mcp/ — query the wire directly from an assistant - Full endpoint list and schemas: https://bytenews.io/llms-full.txt - Human-readable API page, with worked examples: https://bytenews.io/api/ - RSS: https://bytenews.io/feed.xml ## Editions English at the root; ar, bn, es, fr, hi, pt, zh under a language prefix.
